Page to stage - update from Katie White

30/5/2016

Hello Swanny gang! Can't believe it's almost time for us all to meet again - roll on August.
Swanwick Page to Stage, led by Katie White, is an event principally exploring script writing. Since actors, directors and stage hands are also required for the performance, everyone is welcome. Feel free to come along and watch - but there’s no guarantee you won’t be roped in to help out!
As we only have time for 7 scripts to be work-shopped and performed, the duration of scripts will be 5 minutes max (remember: 1 page = 1 minute). Michael (Chairman) will have his timer on the night so no over-running will be allowed! Please get someone to read your script through with you at a normal speaking pace - and time it. Every year we’ve had to disqualify some really good scripts because they are way over the time allocated.
All scripts must be in proper script format (check the BBC Writers Room if you're unsure of formatting).
No names or contact details must appear on submitted scripts but they must be provided in a sealed envelope with entries.
The chairman will adjudicate this competition. There will be awards for
•Best Actress
•Best Actor
•Best Script
These will be presented on the final evening.

For your information:
•List of characters – try to keep to a minimum.
•Props must be brought with you if you want them to be used but please remember we have very limited space.
•You must be available on the Tuesday afternoon and evening for the actual work-shopping and performance.
•If your script is chosen you will have to bring with you a copy for each of the actors, one for the director and one for yourself.

Please send scripts before the closing date of 30 June 2016 to:
