TOPWRITE
2025 was a very special year for our TOPWRITE SCHEME, as we celebrate 20 years of offering young writers (aged 18-30) the opportunity to attend The Writers Summer School for a fraction of the full price. First offered in 2005, this special opportunity is an amazing experience for aspiring young writers and we are delighted to be able to continue to offer the TopWrite scheme for 2026.
TopWrite is open to applicants who are:

Aged between 18 and 30

Committed to writing

Eager for an opportunity that introduces you to what writing as a career might actually be like
​​If this sounds like you, TopWrite could be the opportunity you’re looking for. There are up to 12 places available which will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
Successful applicants for TopWrite only pay a fraction (around 20%) of the normal full time price - and we even accept payment in installments, making this even more affordable for young people.

Assisted Places
Thanks to the generosity of the Friends of Swanwick, we can help those writers ​who cannot afford our full course fees and otherwise could not attend the Summer School.
​
​Writers can apply for any amount up to 75% of the full course fee, ​but we ask that applicants offer to contribute the maximum they feel they can afford.​​
​
Applications for ASSISTED PLACES open on 1st January.
